Final Fantasy 7 Crisis Core Reunion Quick Review

This is a Final Fantasy VII remake, and it means business. It may be one of the most intriguing series of open world games created, with few exceptions to rival it. And in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Remake, fans can experience the new beginnings of the franchise with an entirely new engine and revamped combat system, while simultaneously paying respect to the original masterpiece. With the release of the game, fans will experience a new story that hasn’t been told before. It tells the tale of Zack Fair, one of the most beloved characters from Final Fantasy VII. He had a tragic end in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII; however, this remake gives fans the chance to see how he lived before his demise.

The story of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Remake will be told through Zack’s eyes as he trains under the legendary SOLDIER, Angeal Hewley. The game follows Zack as he goes from a mere cadet to becoming one of the most revered heroes in Shinra history. He makes many friends along the way and even learns more about himself than he ever thought possible.

The game also has a lot of heart. It’s not just about the action, but it also explores some deeper themes that many people can relate to. For example, the game touches on Zack’s relationship with his mentor Angeal Hewley, who was once considered one of Shinra’s top soldiers. As the game progresses, we discover that Genesis (another soldier) has become corrupted by the power he wields. He starts to see his own men as nothing more than pawns in a much larger game and becomes obsessed with achieving his goals at any cost. Of course, we also get a lot of Sephiroth in this game and the friendship dynamic between Sephiroth, Angeal, and Genesis is a very interesting one.

The game also deals with Zack’s relationship with his best friend, Cloud Strife. Cloud ends up being a failure at SOLDIER training and even though he makes it into the special forces, he’s still not good enough to achieve his dream of becoming a hero like Zack. Even though Cloud fails, Zack still considers him to be his best friend and they continue to work together. While this might seem like a strange friendship at first glance, it actually makes sense once you consider the context of their relationship. Zack is an elite SOLDIER who can do anything he sets his mind to, but Cloud is just an average guy who has trouble getting things done on his own.

Now not to get into any spoilers, but the game does follow the same story line as the original with improved graphics, cut scenes, and audio. So if you played the original this game does follow the same path. Overall, it's a fantastic remake of a classic and brings hope to those that want to see other Final Fantasy games remade in a similar fashion. Here's hoping the give FF6 and FF8 the same treatment sometime soon.
